The following tournaments are Weekly Events as described on the Tournaments Page.  Each event will be played on Tuesday or Saturday according to your playing group.  See the tournament schedule for each event.

Flag Tournament - Each player is given a small flag with her name and the number of strokes equaling par plus her handicap.  When she reaches her quota of strokes, playing an extra hole or two if necessary, she plants the flag.  On the card she writes where the 1st stroke ended her play, (i.e. hole #18 120 yds from the green, hole #1 12 inches from the hole on the green).  The winner is the player who plants her flag the furtherest around the course.  Players will bring their flag back to the chairperson for recording.  This tournament is flighted.

Four Clubs and a Putter - The player may use any four clubs she desires.  The fifth club must be a putter.  She may not carry any other clubs with her on the course during the 18 holes being played.  Full handicap will be used.  Winners are, one gross and net winner in flights according to participation.

Low Gross - Each player plays 18 holes and the total number of strokes taken on each hole is entered.  The low gross winner will be the player with the fewest number of strokes taken on each hole.  Gross prizes are awarded in each flight.

Low Net - Each player plays 18 holes and the total number of strokes taken on each hole is entered.  The low net winner will be declared after the full handicap is deducted from the total score.

Low Putts - Each player will keep track of the total strokes taken on each hole.  Putts should be counted and placed in the upper right corner of the box on each hole played.  A ball lying on the fringe will not be considered on the green and will not count as a putt even if the player uses a putter.  The winner is the player with the fewest number of putts.

Member - Member Alternating Shots - Each member will team with another member.  Both partners drive from each tee and select which ball to play thereafter.  Alternating shots are played until the ball is holed out.  Both players' handicaps are combined, and then divided by 2 to determine the handicaps used in this tournament.  The low net team score will be declared the winners.  Net and gross prizes will be awarded according to participation.  The 10-stroke rule will not apply in this tournament.

Member - Member Best Ball - Any MLGA member with an established USGA handicap will team with another MLGA member.  The format is a full handicap stroke play event as a two-lady team with the score being based on the better ball of the twosome, less strokes as they fall on the card.  Winners are the teams with the lowest better ball scores.  The 10-stroke rule will not apply in this tournament.

Nassau - This is similar to the handicap stroke play except that handicap strokes are taken as they fall on the card (i.e. a 19 handicap has 10 strokes on the front nine and 9 strokes on the back nine).  The handicap is deducted at the end of each nine played.  Prizes are awarded for the best front nine, the best back nine, and the best total 18 holes.

Nine Best Holes - Each player plays 18 holes and the total number of strokes taken on each hole is recorded.  After playing the round, the player selects the best 9 holes and scores that total.  One-half of handicaps are deducted and the winner is the player with the lowest score.

Odd/Even - Each player will play 18 holes and the total number of strokes taken on each hole will be entered.  The players will have no knowledge of the holes that will be selected.  Since Saturday and Tuesday ladies play the same tournament, the pro will select Odd  or Even after play on Tuesday.  One-half of the handicaps will be deducted from the holes selected.  Net and gross prizes will be awarded in each flight.

Red White and Blue Tournament - The player will play the first hole from the red tee, then play the second hole from the white tee, and then the third hole from the blue tees.  Play continues this way in the red, white, and blue format until the 18 holes are completed.  The player with the lowest number of strokes is declared the winner after deducting their handicap.  Players are flighted.

T's and F's - This will be an 18-hole stroke play event.  Only holes beginning with T's, (2, 3, 10, 12, and 13) and F's (4, 5, 14, and 15) are used.  In the net division, one-half of the handicaps are deducted from the total score to determine the winners.  Winners are, one gross and two net in flights according to participation.

Scramble Two Lady - A two-lady team will be paired.  The format will be a Captain's Choice.  The players will select the best drive and play will proceed from the same spot.  If a ball is chosen in the rough, a sand trap, or hazard, it must be played from that position.  Proceed with this format until a ball is holed out.  Prizes are awarded according to participation.

Scramble Four Lady - A four-lady team will be combined using an "A", "B", "C", and "D" player.  The format will be a Captain's Choice.  A captain will select the best drive and all players will play from the same spot.  If a ball is chosen in the rough, a sand trap or hazard, it must be played form that position.  Proceed with this format until a ball is holed out.  Prizes are awarded according to participation.

Selected Scores - This is a two consecutive week 18-hole tournament.  The participant plays 18-hole stroke play recording her score on each hole played.  After the second round is played, she compares the scores recorded on each hole.  She then selects the lowest score posted from each of the eighteen holes.  Full handicap is deducted form the total of the holes selected.  Winners are low net and gross according to participation.  The 10-stroke rule will not apply in this tournament.

String Tournament - Each player is given a piece of string in lieu of handicap strokes.  The string is measured to allow one foot for each handicap stroke.  The player may advance the ball by hand to a more favorable spot at any time, measuring the distance the ball was moved with the string and cutting off the length used.  When the string is used up, the payer is on her own.  The string may be used on the putting green to advance the ball into the hole, or it may be used to inch away from a difficult lie through the green or in a hazard.  Low net will be declared the winner.

Twelve Best Holes - Each player will play 18 holes of stroke play.  At the finish of play each player will total her score on 12 of her best holes.  She will deduct two-thirds of the handicap to determine her final score.  The winners are the players wit the lowest score for the 12 holes drawn.
